Music for the Senses: City-Wide Guitar Art Trail Hits Manchester And Co-op Live Has a Starring Role!
This summer, Manchester cranks up the volume as a brand new city-wide art trail takes over the streets and it’s all about celebrating our legendary music scene.
From 7 July to 31 August, Music for the Senses, created by the team at Wild in Art, will scatter more than 80 incredible guitars, murals and installations around the city, all paying tribute to Manchester’s rich musical history. And of course, we couldn’t miss out on the fun here at Co-op Live.
What’s It All About?
Music for the Senses takes guitars donated by Manchester icons like New Order, Elbow, Doves, PINS, Busted and even Liam & Noel Gallagher and turns them into jaw-dropping works of art.
These one-of-a-kind guitars have been painted, mosaicked and transformed by some of the city’s best artists, then placed in music hotspots across Manchester, think Band on the Wall, Aviva Studios, Koffee Pot, New Century… and yes, right here at Co-op Live.
Oh, and if you swing by Selfridges, you can even see the Oasis brothers’ signed Epiphone Riviera up close.
Spot the Co-op Live Guitar
We’re especially excited about the guitar on display at Co-op Live, a loving nod to The Courteeners and their indie anthem Not Nineteen Forever.
It’s been beautifully designed with the immortal words:
“You’re not nineteen forever”
If you know, you know. And if you don’t… we’re sure you’ll still love snapping a pic with it!
