Billie Eilish Puts Co-op Live Centre Stage in HIT ME HARD AND SOFT: THE TOUR LIVE IN 3D Film
Billie Eilish’s HIT ME HARD AND SOFT: THE MOVIE IN 3D is now showing in cinemas for a limited time. Filmed during her four night residency at Co-op Live in July 2025, the film captures the energy and scale of her unforgettable Manchester performances.
Teaming up with iconic director James Cameron, known for his work on Titanic and Avatar, the pair collaborated to create a 3D concert film documenting her HIT ME HARD AND SOFT tour show. The film gives fans a unique opportunity to relive the moments with immersive moments and visuals. The film puts fans centre stage, shining a light on how Billie Eilish has built a sense of community within her fanbase. Alongside the performance there are intimate moments behind the scenes; from interactions with fans and vocal warm ups backstage that give a rare glimpse behind the curtain.
James Cameron describes himself as a Billie Eilish fanboy from the very start. “Working with him was so magical in so many ways”, Eilish said. The two were connected through Cameron’s wife, Suzy, who knew Billie’s mother, Maggie Bard, through their shared environmental activism, helping spark the idea for the film.
James Cameron believed this format offers more to fans, even beyond the live experience as “we can get you to places you can’t possibly be”, but also that this project is a reminder that “actual performance of music is important”, especially in this age of expanding technology and AI.
The film encompasses music throughout her career so far, from ‘Ocean Eyes’ and ‘BIRDS OF A FEATHER’ to ‘What was I made for?’, from the Barbie soundtrack, and 'Guess', her collaboration with Charlie XCX.
This project marks another cultural moment for Co-op Live and Manchester, with Billie Eilish saying “I fricking love Manchester” in a recent interview with the BBC.
We can't wait to watch HIT ME HARD AND SOFT: THE MOVIE in 3D, reliving moments from her unforgettable four night residency.
